NCAA Tournament Final Four 2011 Game Time Schedule: Butler vs Connecticut 2011 NCAA Final Four Tournament ESPN Tickets Start Time and NCAA Final Four Basketball Tournament Game Tournament Schedule Disclosed -This is it! The NCAA Tournament 2011 is leading on its way to the final four and to the championship round. The 2011 NCAA tournament bracket is nearing its end as we enter the Final Four in Houston. On one side of the bracket you have mid-majors 11-seed VCU playing 8-seed Butler and on the other side you have old-school power schools 4-seed Kentucky and 3-seed UConn. Both games will take place on Saturday night.
The Final Four is just about here, with the four remaining survivors of the 2011 NCAA Tournament set to hit the court on Saturday with a spot in the NCAA Championship on the line. TheButler Bulldogs, VCU Rams,Kentucky Wildcats andConnecticut Huskies all survived and advanced through the NCAA bracket, setting up the ultimate showdown in Houston over the next three days. From Cinderellas to powerhouses, this year's Final Four has everything but a No. 1 seed.
The money line opened with Butler as a -140 favorite and Virginia Commonwealth as a +120 underdog. Adding to the Cinderella similarities of this match-up is the fact that these two teams have the two hottest young head coaching prospects in the game with Shaka Smart of Virginia Commonwealth and Brad Stevens of Butler.
Both coaches are rumored for what is perceived to be bigger and better gigs and paychecks after the Final Four. The second match-up on the CBS Saturday schedule is between two traditional powers that have plenty of championship banners in their respective home courts as the Kentucky Wildcats take on the Connecticut Huskies at 8:50pm EST.
Final Four odds at online sportsbooks have opened with Kentucky as a 2.5-point favorite with an over/under total of 140. The money line has also opened with Kentucky as a -135 favorite in college basketball picks with UConn as a +115 underdog.
However, Butler has a magical quality about them. Their coach Brad Stevens is signed in Butler until the end of time and building a program that consistently surprises in the NCAA Tournament. He is one of the best in-game adjustment coaches in college basketball, and he can make the difference on an otherwise overwhelmed Butler squad. Butler is always the team with less talent in these matchups, and they almost always find a way to win. Shelvin Mack and Matt Howard are winners.
Apparently, after winning five game in five days to win the 2011 Big East Tournament title, UConn has won its first four games in the 2011 NCAA Tournament. The Huskies defeated Bucknell (81-52) in the second round,Cincinnati (69-58)in the Round of 32, San Diego State (74-67) in the Sweet 16 and Arizona (65-63) in the Elite Eight.
Not only are these programs similar as power champions but they each have highly controversial coaches that have had their share of run ins with the NCAA. John Calipari of Kentucky has had two previous appearances in Final Four odds vacated by the NCAA for compliance violations and Jim Calhoun of UConn has had major battles this year with the NCAA over compliance.
The games tip off on Saturday night starting with VCU and Butler at 5:09 p.m. (CT) and then followed by Kentucky and UConn at 7:49 p.m. (CT), or whenever the first game is done. After that, the two winners will meet on Monday, April 4 at 8:00 p.m. for the 2011 NCAA championship.
