Earthquake Prompts Tsunami Warning in Japan

Japan lifted a tsunami advisory Sunday after only small waves arrived at the nation's northern Pacific coast a few hours after a 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit the region. The quake was centered about 131 miles (212km) east of Sendai, the capital city of Miyagi Prefecture, according to the US Geological Survey. It hit the area at 9:57am local time. Continue reading
