The 2012 Relay for Life Kick-Off Party was held Sunday at Pharaoh’s Adventureland in Redlands.
There were games, door prizes, entertainment and food, provided by Pharaoh’s.
Organizers discussed the beginning planning stages of the Redlands Relay for Life, which will be May 5 and 6 at Redlands East Valley High School.
The kick-off was co-hosted by Mike Ballinger, event chairman, and June Patterson of the American Cancer Society is the event’s senior manager.
The first team meeting will be Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Plymouth Village in Redlands. The public is welcome, and dinner will be provided.
Participants of the Relay for Life will have opportunities to honor and celebrate cancer survivors, and to encourage people currently battling cancer.
Information about joining existing teams, starting a new team, signing up survivors to participate and purchasing personalized luminarias in honor or memory of someone will be given.
This event and all subsequent Relay meetings will be held at the Plymouth Village Retirement Community, 945 Salem Drive, in the lower level of the clubhouse in the Brewster Room. Patterson will provide dinner to attendees who pre-register at june.patterson@cancer.org
