- Louis Chen, the doctor accused of murdering his partner and their son in their First Hill home last month, plead not guilty today, despite official accounts that he admitted to killing them when the bodies were found.
- The fourth defendant in the 2010 “Craigslist murders” was found guilty of six counts today. Clabon Berniard is the final person to be tried in the case; the first three were found guilty of between 71 and 123 years, according to Q13.
- And while poor taste isn’t a crime, it’s certainly still notable.. In Hoquiam, a group of organizers for a local festival couldn’t resist making a cringe-worthy pun about the late Osama Bin Laden. The t-shirts, which feature the terrorist leader tied to a log and being dunked by a muscular man with an American flag tattooed on his arm, are being used in promotion of the Loggers Playday community festival, and read “Osama Bin Loggin’”.
- And finally, in an attempt to close the ever-widening budget gap, ferry prices will be increased beginning in October. They will also go up again in May.
