The Freedom Tower, also known as 1 World Trade Center, is rising from Ground Zero of the previous Twin Towers, World Trade Center (WTC) in New York.
The Twin Towers were previously demolished, in the so called 9/11 attacks, by two planes on September 11, 2001.
As disclosed by international news sites, September 3, 2011, the Freedom Tower� would be tallest building in the US, once it is completed.
The base measures 2, 600, 001 square feet, with 105 floors and the antenna reaching up to 1,776 feet.
After much debate between vital participants, the Freedom Tower has finally started to be built on April 27, 2006, and is expected to be completed in 2013.
According to Architect David Childs, the building should not only be beautiful but should also be "highly efficient."
New York Port Authority's Bill Baroni also said that the building will not only last for 10 years but "for the next thousand years."
Reportedly, Freedom Tower or 1 World Trade Center is a symbol of the West's ability "to stand proud of its achievements," and to show the world "what Americans can do."
This is despite the tragic memories of the more than two thousand people who have perished in the occurrence.
As the 10th anniversary of 9/11 approaches, Freedom Tower is now in its 82th floor construction from Ground Zero of the previous World Trade Center destruction.
